“Twilight” Also At Nordstrom

Another tip regarding the “Twilight” live appearances on November 12th: apparently these events are sponsored by both Hot Topic and Nordstrom (yeah, that’s an odd combination), so you can also try your luck at the Nordstrom store at the Natick Collection for the big 8am ticket rush on the 31st. See
http://shop.nordstrom.com/newmoon (click on “Sweepstakes and Events” then “Events Calendar”) and be prepared to spend at least $75.

New Date for “Twilight” Tour

Well, phooey. One day after I posted about the “Twilight: New Moon” event in Natick they went and changed the date: It’s now happening on November 12th, according to http://community.hottopic.com/hottopic/new-moon/castTour.php. However, you still have to be there at 8:00AM on October 31st in order to buy the wristband that gets you in — that hasn’t changed. If you are interested in this event I suggest you keep an eye on that website in case there are further changes.

“Twilight” Live Show

The stars of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” are making live appearances at Hot Topic stores across the country to promote the movie. The only New England stop will be Thursday, November 12th [note revised date] at the Hot Topic store in the Natick Collection in Natick, MA. However, you’re going to have to be one of the lucky fans who scores a wristband in order to get in:

Go to any of the Hot Topic locations listed below at 8:00AM on October 31st, 2009, and purchase a commemorative The Twilight Saga: New Moon Tour T-shirt. You’ll get a wristband that’ll give you access to the event at the location you purchase your T-shirt from.

There is a limit of one wristband per person. It has not yet been announced which actors will appear at which locations, nor have they said what time the event takes place (probably to stem the tide of wristbandless fans who will show up anyway). See the complete list of appearances at http://community.hottopic.com/hottopic/new-moon/castTour.php.

Update: You can also get tickets at the Nordstrom store for the same event, though it will cost you at least $75 and you still have to be there at 8am on the 31st. See http://shop.nordstrom.com/newmoon (click on “Sweepstakes and Events” then “Events Calendar”).

Spooktacular: Brides of Dracula

The Colonial Theatre in Keene, NH has some spooky happenings planned for Saturday, October 24th at 7:00pm:

Ferocious female vampires feast upon Keene, NH at The Colonial Theatre’s SPOOKTACULAR, Saturday, October 24, 2009. Curated by Saturday Fright Special, New Hampshire’s first home-grown horror host show, the cornerstone of the event is a rare 35mm screening of the 1960 Hammer horror classic BRIDES OF DRACULA, starring Peter Cushing. The SPOOKTACULAR will also feature additional Hammer and other vintage monster movie trailers and other fearsome film goodies too frightful to mention, horror DVD and T-shirt giveaways as well as an original BRIDES OF DRACULA sketch from renowned artist S.R. Bissette, as well as signed copies of the Bissette-illustrated THE VERMONT MONSTER GUIDE and THE VERMONT GHOST GUIDE, and a signed MONSTERS & GIRLS comic from Vermont artist Denis St. John. The costumed cast from Saturday Fright Special will be on hand to introduce the film and live “vampire brides” will hand out free vampire fangs to the first 50 patrons. Audience members are encouraged to come in costume to help add to the pre-Halloween atmosphere, and a prize will be awarded for the audience favorite for best costume.
