The Boston Area Toy Collectors Club is celebrating their 13th annual gathering for toy collectors on September 20th in Randolph, MA.
Since launched in 2001, the BATCC’s annual event has grown in stature and in scope to honor the top collectible toy companies in the world based on the raw opinions and votes of its nation-wide voting base. This year’s event will be held on Friday evening, September 20, 2013 at The Lantana in Randolph, MA, minutes south of Boston, MA (USA.) It is a planned, invitation-only event open equally to BATCC members and non-members alike. No other event of its kind exists anywhere else in the world.
The event salutes the firms, and the numerous anniversaries and milestones that add to the excitement. Mr. Andrew Vranicar, the MATCHBOX Marketing Manager / MATTEL, INC. HQ’s, will be on hand as we salute the 60th Anniversary of this iconic brand that has directly influenced much of today’s diecast vehicle industry. Numerous scarce samples and prototypes will be available for the event guests to bid on. Samples from 1953 – 1960 will be on view.
Noted ‘SUPERMAN’ authority, Paul Kupperburg, has been invited as we mark the 75th Anniversary of this DC Comics leader. Paul is a former DC Comics editor, and in such capacity was charged with preserving the accuracy / legacy of SUPERMAN (1938) and more.
The Marston family is also planning on returning after our major salute last year to William Moulton Marston’s creation of DC Comics’ ‘WONDER WOMAN’(1942).
(Note: Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Burbank, CA has been enlisted to aid us in honoring their superheroes. DC Comics is owned and nourished by Warner Bros.)
The BATCC will also salute ‘The Lone Ranger’ (1933) respecting its true place in American pop culture.
Event favorite, Paul Ryan, current artist of ‘The Phantom‘ (1936) has been invited to join us too.
Our event emcees will be Jordan Rich of the WBZ / CBS radio network, and Tim Estiloz, Double-Emmy winning TV entertainment reporter / interviewer.
This evening event is open to BATCC Members, their families and friends, alongside members of the press, the retail community, and all lovers of comics, movies, television shows and, of course, toys from all eras. Select dealers are present too.
