Dark Mountain State Reading

Geek Mountain State and Quarterstaff Games are hosting Dark Mountain State, an event which “will look to the darker side of fantasy and horror fiction from local authors as the daylight hours grow short in New England.” Authors include Travis R. Popular Culture Conference: Weird Lovecraft

The College of St. Joseph in Rutland, VT, is hosting its Second Annual Popular Culture Conference, “Weird Lovecraft: H.P. Lovecraft, Weird Tales, and the American Horror Canon.” On April 12th there will be a meet-and-greet, a presentation about Lovecraft, and a performance of “The Whisperer in Darkness”; on the 13th there will be three panel sessions discussing Lovecraft’s work and influence. Open Fields Medieval Festival 2013

The Open Fields Medieval Festival will be held in Thetford, VT on May 25th:

On Saturday, May 25, 2013, Open Fields will hold its Medieval Festival on the Thetford Green from 11 am to 3 pm. During this family-friendly festival, the Green comes alive with the sights and sounds of a Medieval village. A King & Queen, knights and ladies, peasants, craftsmen, shepherds, and farmers gather to celebrate the age via music, dance, games of skill and chance, food, parades, storytelling, Benny the Dragon, and feats of juggling and acrobatics. Costumes are encouraged.
